Lisa qualified as a dentist in 1998 from Sheffield Dental Hospital, and after working in general dental practice and then as a senior house officer in Maxillofacial departments in Derby Royal Infirmary and the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Hospital, she embarked on specialist training in Orthodontics at the Bristol Dental Hospital and the Bath Royal United Hospital.

Lisa qualified as a specialist orthodontist in 2005, and since then has had experience working in various specialist NHS orthodontic practices and private dental practices in the North Somerset and Gloucestershire region. Alongside this, she worked as a clinical tutor at the Bristol Dental Hospital teaching the postgraduate Orthodontic Specialist Registrars for ten years.

Although Lisa enjoys all aspects of orthodontics, she has developed a specialist interest in interceptive orthodontics and in doing so, identifying and addressing potential orthodontic issues early in children.

Lisa also enjoys treating teenagers and adults, even when faced with some challenging, complex cases. She is happy to use the more cosmetic orthodontic appliance systems and liaises with other dental experts to achieve the best aesthetic and healthiest smile for her patients, recognising how dentistry and orthodontics are rapidly changing over the years. Lisa takes pride in tailoring every patient’s orthodontic journey and educating them on how orthodontics enhanced with general awareness of their dental health can help to achieve the result they want and maintain long-term.

Lisa joined Bank Cottage Dental in 2018, and her compassionate, friendly and engaging nature has been welcomed by the patients she loves to treat.

Outside of work, when not busy looking after her two sons, she is dedicated to training in her martial arts and keeping fit. She has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a black sash in Lau Gar Kung Fu. She supports her local martial arts club, regularly coaching the kids in Kung Fu. Another pastime is her love of art, dance and travel. She enjoys creating art, collecting and utilising interesting materials and mediums she comes across..as well as contemporary dance and discovering cultures and new landscapes along her travels with her family.
