Bank Cottage has supported Bridge 2 Aid charity for many years. Bridge 2 Aid believes that everybody in the world has the right to safe emergency dental care. It’s sustainable training model provides local health workers with the essential skills to improve the lives of the people in local communities for the longterm.
Since 2004, Bridge 2 Aid has provided training which has given access to safe emergency dental care for over 5 million people in Tanzania.
This has been possible through volunteers from the UK dental community travelling over to train rural health workers.
Teresa, Jane and Lisa Perrin visited rural areas in Tanzania, and spent 2 weeks as part of a team training local health workers to successfully extract teeth and give oral hygiene advice to the many people who have suffered dental pain for years, which has had catastrophic effects on their lives.
The longterm plan for Bridge 2 Aid is to roll the training out to any country where there is a need.
Over 70% of the world’s population has no access to the most simple dental pain relief.
50p can provide access to safe emergency dental care for 1 person.

As a person with a fear of dentists who had not visited one in 8 years I can honestly say Dentist Tim Lindop and Nurse Lisa made me feel at ease. They were friendly and professional and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Tim took the time to thoroughly explain to me what he was going to do before beginning which took a lot of my anxiety away. After explaining my concerns Tim was very patient and understanding and the injections I received were very gentle. Excellent dental practice with exceptional staff, I won't be going anywhere else in future.
