Infections can occur when the outer layer of a tooth is damaged or a restoration such as a crown or filling is compromised. Bacteria can then make its way into the central system of a tooth and cause infection.
It is important to treat root canal issues as quickly as possible so that we can stop the infection from travelling through the root canal system. Without treatment, teeth can die and become discoloured, painful, and form an abscess.
