If you are experiencing a dental emergency, you can call us during and out of surgery hours and we will do our best to advise and help resolve your problem.
Bank Cottage Dental Practice has joined with a neighbouring dentist to ensure all patients are given the care and attention they need at the time when they need it most.
Dental emergencies can include any of the following:
Sudden onset of dental pain
Breakage of a tooth
Accident causing trauma to the teeth
Gum infection, abscess, or swelling of face
Loosening or breakage of a dental restoration such as a filling or crown
Problem with an orthodontic appliance
Signs and Symptoms of Septicaemia
Although it is rare to get sepsis following a bacterial infection from a dental condition or treatment, it is a potentially life-threatening medical condition. If you or someone in your care have recently had an infection or injury and possible early signs of sepsis, please seek medical advice from NHS 111 or go straight to A&E or call 999.
Early signs of sepsis may include:
A high or low body temperature
Chills and shivering
Rapid heartbeat
Problems or changes to breathing
Feeling or acting differently from normal

If you have called within surgery hours, we will aim to fit you in at our next available appointment. If your problem arises outside of surgery hours, you will be advised by one of our dentists, and if any treatment needs to be carried out, it will be done so by an experienced and knowledgeable dental professional.
